BATON ROUGE, La. -- Senior Erica Popson continued to pace the Lady Vols at the LSU Classic as UT moved up three spots in the team standings after second round action.

"Today was a much better day - conditions were a little tougher and we had all six players at 76 or better," head coach Judi Pavon said. "That's much more of what we are looking for from our team. We had some big numbers today which kept us from making up the lead, but we still have an outside chance to make it up."

Popson shot 1-over par 73 and sits in a tie for first at even-par through 36 holes. Sophomore AJ Newell is in a tie for 10th with a 3-over par 147 card.

Erica is playing well once again," Pavon said. "She was a couple under par, and made an uncharacteristic double, but still is tied for the lead heading into tomorrow."

"AJ has played really solid both days. She is putting really well and hitting her irons well too. We have been working a lot on getting out of her comfort zone and she is doing a great job playing smart but aggressively."

Senior Sara Monberg follows in a tie for 32nd after finishing the second round at 3-over par 75 for a 9-over 153 two-day total. Junior Chessey Thomas completes UT's counted scores as she shot 3-over par 75 in Saturday's round to sit in a tie for 48th at 14-over.

Sophomore Mason Chen is in a tie for 55th at 16-over 150. Sophomore Daeun Song, who is competing as an individual, is in a tie for 32nd at 9-over through two days.

Arkansas continues to hold the lead at 14-over 590, while Tulane (600) and LSU (600) are tied for second at 24-over. Following Tennessee in fifth and sixth is NC State (603) and TCU (604), respectively. Georgia (608) and Florida State (608) are knotted up in seventh, while Kentucky (615) and Mississippi (616) round out the top 10. Wake Forest (618), Missouri (624), ULM (642) and UNC-Wilmington (664) complete the team standings.

The third and final round begins at 9:30 a.m. ET Sunday with a shotgun start. You can follow live updates here.
