LADY VOL GOLFERS IN FIFTH AFTER SECOND DAY OF BRYAN NATIONAL COLLEGIATE

The No. 10 University of Tennessee Lady Vol golf squad remained in fifth place, among a high quality field that includes nine Top 25 squads, with a two-round 600 (298-302) at the 2003 Bryan National Collegiate in Greensboro, N.C. The Lady Vols trail tournament leader Duke's two-day 580 (286-294) by 20 strokes. Individually, Jessica Shepley (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) is just three shots shy of a logjam of four leaders at 142 after posting a 7th-place tying 145 (70-75).

Junior Tai Perry (Unionville, Pa.) moved into contention as well with Tennessee's best round of the day to accumulate a two-round 147 (74-73) to tie for 11th-place, while freshman Violeta Retamoza (Aguascalientes, Mexico) carded a two-round 31st-place tying 152 (75-77). Junior Mary Jan Fernandez (Henderson, Nev.) posted a 156 (79-77) to tie for 52nd-place, while rookie Golda Johansson (Lund, Sweden) remained in a 77th-place tie with a 162 (83-79).

UT continues concludes the Bryan National Collegiate Sunday with a final-round shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
