Head Coach Judi Pavon's golf squad improved to seventh place on the second day of the Bryan National Collegiate at Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C., as the team posted a two-day 596 (302-294). Duke opened up what may be an insurmountable lead with a five-under 571 (289-282), while Vanderbilt's May Wood moved into the top individual spot with a four-under 140 (72-68).

As for the Orange and White, sophomore Violeta Retamoza (Aguascalientes, Mexico) paced UT with an 11th-place-tying 146 (74-72), while senior Mary Jan Fernandez (Henderson, Nev.) is in an 18th-place tie with a 148 (74-74). Junior Teesha Ash (Chattanooga, Tenn.) increased her lot by nearly 20 spots by posting a 151 (79-72) to tie for 35th place, while sophomore Golda Johansson (Lund, Sweden) fell into a 54th-place tie with a 155 (75-80). Junior Jessica Shepley (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) rounded out the UT effort with a 159 (83-76) to tie for 72nd place.

Next up, the Lady Vols conclude the tournament on Sunday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. ET.
