BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Tennessee women's golf team finished in 13th place after an up-and-down weekend at the 2014 SEC Championship. The Lady Vols followed up their 293 (+5) on Saturday with a final round 314 (+26) on Sunday for a 54-hole total of 927 (+51).

"After a really good round yesterday, we really had a letdown today and didn't have anyone play their best," head coach Judi Pavon said. "Chessey [Thomas] didn't have a good day, but had a solid tournament finish for her last SEC Championship."

Senior Chessey Thomas capped off her last SEC Championship with the best conference tournament finish of her career, T-14th. The native of Spokane, Wash., shot a three day total of 224 (+8) that included a second round 71 (-1). Thomas carded nine birdies over 54 holes.

"Overall, I am ok with my play this weekend," Thomas said. "I hit the ball well off the tee all weekend and rarely shortsided myself, but my putting really let me down today."

Freshman Hannah Pietila finished her first SEC Championship tied for 40th position after shooting a total of 231 (+15) at the Greystone Golf and Country Club.

Junior Mason Chen and freshman Lucia Polo both finished tied for 53rd place after carding a 54-hole total of 234 (+18).

Junior Daeun Song rounded out the Tennessee lineup by posting a final round 79 (+7) for a total of 237 (+21), finishing in 63rd place.
