LEXINGTON, Ky.

The 19th/21st ranked University of Tennessee Lady Vol golf squad remain in first place at the Lady Kat Invitational in Lexington, Ky., today after inclement weather forced the suspension of play until Sunday. The Lady Vols will tee off with Mississippi State and Penn State tomorrow at 7:45 a.m. Results will be unavailable until after the completion of the second round. Participants will then begin the third round with a shotgun start scheduled for approximately 8:30 a.m. Play had been suspended earlier in the day for approximately two hours when a first group of thunderstorms tore through the area. Tournament officials resumed play at 4:30 p.m. EDT in an attempt to complete the round, but torrential rains and lightning prompted their decision to cease play until Sunday morning.

Although during earlier action, freshman Violeta Retamoza (Aquascalientes, Mexico) snuck in her round, before the weather hampered the rest of the tourney, by carding a two-round 144 with a 2-over 74 performance as an individual.
