FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Junior Diana Cantú posted a season-best 1-under 71 to lead the Lady Vol women's golf team on day two of the Mason Rudolph Women's Championship on Saturday at the Vanderbilt Legends Club South Course.

Junior Ginny Brown, sophomore Lauren Spurlock and freshman Nathalie Mansson each fired 4-over 76s, which combined with Cantu's outstanding round gave the Lady Vols a 299 (+11) total and puts them in 15th place after round two with a two-day total of 606 (+30).

"We made progress today and are within reach of moving up with a good round tomorrow," Head women's golf coach Judi Pavon said. "It was good to have a fourth score under 80."

Cantú carded three birdies with only two bogeys on the par-72, 6,262-yard course. Her two-day total of 145 (+1) puts in her in a tie for 21st heading into the final round on Sunday.

"Diana had a really good round today" Pavon said. "She is playing solid golf."

Brown, starting at the tenth tee, fired three birdies on the back nine and was two-under at the turn, but carded five bogeys and a double-bogey on the front nine to give her a 76, five shots better than Friday. Brown moved into a tie for 72nd with her two-day total of 81-76=157 (+13).

Mansson had one birdie on the day for her 76, while Spurlock consistently made par all but four times in tying her season-best score. Mansson sits in a tie for 42nd with her score of 74-76=150 (+6). Spurlock's two-day total of 78-76=154 (+10) places her in a tie for 62nd.

UT's fifth player, redshirt freshman Emily Sills shot a 91 (+19). Playing as an individual, Rebecca Watson carded a 79 (+7).

Third-ranked UCLA fired a 13-under 275 and increased its lead by six strokes (562) over Oklahoma State (568).

The Lady Vols are ahead of Stanford and Central Florida and only two strokes behind Southeastern Conference rival Auburn.

Vanderbilt's Megan Grehan shot a 7-under 65 on her home course to take the individual lead with her 136 (-8) total.

Teams will be teeing off beginning at 7:30 a.m. for Sunday's final round.
