Wilmington, N.C. - The No. 12 Lady Vol golf team sits in third place, just four shots back of leader New Mexico, after the second round of The Landfall Tradition concluded on Saturday.
UT shot a 295 on the day, led by preseason All-American Violeta Retamoza's three-under-par 69. The Aguascalientes, Mexico, native sits in a tie for ninth place, with a two-day total of 145.
Freshman Marci Turner (Tompkinsville, Ky.) is alone in third place, after firing a 75 for the second round. The Kentucky native is just two strokes behind New Mexico's Kailin Downs in the chase for medalist honors.
