STANFORD, Calif. - Led by freshman Kaitlyn Rohrback's even-par 71 on Saturday, the 17th-ranked Tennessee Lady Vol golf team remains in a tie for eighth with one round left to play at the Pac-10/SEC Challenge at the Stanford (Calif.) Golf Course.
For Sunday's final round, UT will tee off beginning at 8:30 a.m. PST on No. 7 in a shotgun start. Golfstat.com will have live results.
Tennessee carded a 9-over 293 for the second round on the par-71, 6,103-yard course. The Lady Vols are tied with Arkansas in eighth with a 16-over 584 total.
UCLA leads the tournament by nine strokes with a 566 (-2) score after two rounds. Auburn and Alabama are tied for second at 578 (+7).
Rohrback was one-under at the turn, and shook off a double bogey on No. 10 by making back-to-back birdies on holes No. 11 and No. 12. Her day two score of 71 ties a season-best and her 36-hole total of 75-71=146 (+4) puts her in a tie for 24th.
Junior Nathalie Mansson carded a second consecutive 1-over 72 on Sunday and leads the Big Orange with a tied-for-17th position.
"Kaitlyn had a solid round today from start to finish," Lady Vol head coach Judi Pavon said. "Nathalie is struggling with her ball striking, but has been fighting and putting well. This is such a strong field and I am happy with our position considering that we are not playing our best. The weather is not supposed to be good tomorrow, so we will go out and play tough and look to make up some ground."
Freshman Chessey Thomas carded a second straight 3-over 74 and is tied for 35th with a 148 (+6) total.
Popson followed her day-one even round with a 7-over 78 and is tied for 45th with a 149 (+7) mark, while Monberg is tied for 49th with a 74-76=150 (+8) tally.
Defending SEC Champion Marina Alex sits atop the individual leaderboard with a 66-70=136 (-6) total.
This the inaugural edition of the Pac-10/SEC Challenge and the 21-team field features 13 teams ranked in the Golf World/NGCA Coaches Poll.
