SEBRING, Fla. --Tennessee senior Erica Popson captured the title at the Harder Hall Women's Invitational this past weekend.
Heading into the final round, the Davenport, Fla., native was two shots off Mika Liu's lead. Popson fired a fourth-round low 68 to clinch the crown. She finished the tournament at 6-under par 282.
"To win the Harder Hall and get my name on the same trophy as someone like Carol Semple Thompson is such an honor," Popson said. "For me, it feels so great to get a win and head into the spring with a spark of confidence."
This was Popson's second time competing in the Harder Hall Invitational, after finishing in a tie for fourth in 2011.
Popson has recorded seven individual titles during her time at Tennessee. She wraps her senior season this spring.
Also competing at the Harder Hall Invitational were UT signee Hannah Pietila, who finished fifth (72-71-70-74=287), and UT freshman Emmie Pietila who rounded out the tournament with an 18-over par 306 (85-75-73-74).
