KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Senior Lady Vol Erica Popson represents the Orange and White for the final time this week as she competes as an individual at the NCAA Championships in Athens, Ga. A combined 24 teams and 126 individuals will take part in the 72-hole competition at the University of Georgia Golf Course.
"I am very excited to be able to be representing the Lady Vols at the National Championship this week for the last time," Popson said. "I have been so proud and honored for the last four years to be able to wear orange and be a Lady Vol that I am quite sad that my career here at UT is coming to an end. I hope to be able to play great this week and represent Tennessee extremely well."
A total of four rounds will be played from May 21-24, with the Championship getting underway Tuesday as Popson will tee off at 8:28 a.m. CT/9:28 a.m. ET from the 10th tee. She will be paired with Wisconsin, UCLA and Oregon, as well as Washington's Ying Luo and Kent State's Jennifer Ha, who are competing as individuals.
The Davenport, Fla.-native played on the University of Georgia Golf Course earlier this year when Tennessee competed at the Liz Murphey Fall Preview.
"I have played this course twice now in my career and can't wait to get started playing," Popson said. "I have had two good practice rounds with Judi and am looking forward to working with her on the golf course all week and giving it everything we have to play great."
Popson garnered six top-10 finishes this season, including taking home a share of the Seminole Match-Up crown. She finished in the top-25 in nine of the 10 tournaments this year.
