CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Three Tennessee women's golfers have been named to the 2011-12 National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar team. Junior Sara Monberg, freshman AJ Newell and sophomore Kaitlyn Rohrback all earned honors for outstanding performances on the course and in the classroom.
Monberg, who will be senior in the fall was named to the team for the third consecutive season. Rohrback made her second appearance on the squad while Newell was recognized after her freshman season.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50. A total of 585 women's collegiate golfers in NCAA Divisions I, II and III captured the award in 2010-11.
