KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Women's golf assistant coach Andrew Pratt was named head women's golf coach at Tulane University, as announced Friday. The former Tennessee men's golfer served as assistant coach under women's head coach Judi Pavόn from 2008-11.
In his time coaching at Tennessee, the Lady Vols collected four team tournament wins, eight individual tournament wins and produced two All-Americans.
"It is a great opportunity," Pratt said. "There are not many chances - especially as a male coach on the women's side - to get a head coaching job, first, but to also be with a top-20 program. So I'm excited, but it's bittersweet. I've spent a lot of my time here in Knoxville, and with the girls it's been great over the last three years."
Pratt marks the third Lady Vol assistant to be hired as a collegiate head coach. He joins Carrie Parnaby (UTSA) and Mike Whitson (Eastern Kentucky) who left Rocky Top to lead their own programs.
