Golf is one of the sports where you're usually warming up before the sun is even out. But having your alarm go off at 5:45 am never gets easy.
Paul and I met at the course just after 7:00 am today and were off and running at 8:30 off number one on the Panther course. We'll play the Bobcat course tomorrow (I should note I couldn't remember what large felines the courses were named after so I told someone in the airport I was playing the Mountain Lion and Leopard courses. Naturally I got a funny look....oh well).
It was an absolutely beautiful day for golf. All but 6 holes on the Panther had dried quite well after yesterday's storms.
I was one of the first groups done today so I had around 6 hours of waiting around and watching scores come in. It's frustrating to watch your name fall down the leader board all afternoon.
I came in with a 2 over 74. All things considered, it was a good score for how inconsistent I was off the tee. I definitely need to clean up a few things the next three days. After a short session on the range after my round I feel better about tomorrow.
Fortunately my Mom knows me well and figured going to the outlet mall would keep my mind off the leader board, at least for a few hours. Seems like I always return from tournaments with more golf clothes than I came with.
I tee off in the second wave at 12:35 pm tomorrow on the Bobcat course. Very excited to sleep in and have a relaxing breakfast before I tee off.
Until tomorrow, God Bless and Go Vols! Chessey
