KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The University of Tennessee women's golf team welcomes Hannah Pietila to the Lady Vol family.
Pietila, a Brighton, Mich., native, captured 10 crowns in 12 tournaments last year, and has served as captain of her high school team for the past two seasons.
"Hannah will be a great addition to our program," head coach Judi Pavon said. "She is a great player with a great personality and strong work ethic. I am excited to have our first set of sisters on our team. She is a very powerful player and will make a big impact on our team."
Pietila is a three-time All-County Girls Golfer of the Year and a four-time all-state selection. She was picked to the Super Team this past season for the second year in a row as she led the Bulldogs to division, conference and regional titles with a fifth-place finish at the Division I state finals.
On the junior level, Pietila has competed in the U.S. Girls Junior Championship, and tied for first at the FCWT Championship. She also placed in the top 32 at the 2009 GAM Women's Amateur.
Pietila joins Lucia Polo as the class of 2013 signees for the Lady Vols.
