FALL 2007:

Earned two golds to open the season at the Chattanooga Head Race...Helped her crew win the C8+ event before teaming with Kate Brownlee to take first in the pair...Part of the C8+ shell that posted Tennessee's best finish in program history at the Head of the Charles Regatta, taking fifth...Took home her third gold of the season in the Championship 8+ at the Head of the Hooch...Also took second in the Open 4x...Closed out the fall with a silver medal in the C8+ at the Rivanna Romp.

2006-07:

Won gold and silver medals at the season-opening Chattanooga Head Race...First helped crew to win in Championship 8+ before pushing her Four crew to the runner-up spot...Led UT Champ 8+ crew to a 7th place finish at the Head of the Charles Regatta...Took home gold with her crew at the Head of the Tennessee in the C4+...Won two more races in the C8+ and C4+ at the Head of the Hooch...Helped UT's top Champ 8+ entry finish third at the Rivanna Romp...Joined the First Eights after helping the 2V8+ crew top Louisville to open the spring...Part of the V8+ shell that took first against Stanford and Washington State...Helped the Lady Vols' top crew finish fourth in the V8+ grand final at the Aramark Central/South Sprints...Part of the First Eights shell that took third in the petite final of the NCAA Championships,Named to the All-South Region Second Team for the second straight year.

2005-06:

Guided team to C8+ wins at the Chattanooga Head Race and the Head of the Hooch Regatta...Rowed with top crew in the Head of the Charles, powering the boat to a 12th-place finish...Helped her crew finish second in the C4+ at the Chattanooga Head Race...Rowed all spring with the First Eights...Led shell to its only win in the spring, beating South Region rival Louisville...Assisted crew in runner-up finish in quad race against Princeton, George Washington and UMass...Pushed crew to a third-place result at the Aramark Sprints/NCAA Central and South Regionals...Bronze medal earned Tennessee its first NCAA South Region Championship and secured the team's first full-squad berth in the NCAA Championships...Worked with her shell to win the V8+ "C" final at NCAA Championships...Earned second-team All-South Region accolades...Also named to the Lady Vol Spring Honor Roll.

2004-05:

Joined the second Championship Eight shell for the Chattanooga Head Race, helping the team to a silver finish...Also finished second at both the Head of the Charles in the Club 8+ and the Head of the Tennessee in the Championship Four...Finished fifth at the Rivanna Romp in the same event...Rowed the entire spring with the second Varsity Eight...Led boat to wins over Minnesota and Louisville...Her 2V8+ shell also finished second in the petite final of the Aramark Sprints/NCAA Central and South Regionals.

HIGH SCHOOL:

Graduated from E.L. Crossley Secondary School in 2004...Made the honor roll in 2002 and received an award for excellence in art...Was very active in athletics in high school, participating in rowing, basketball, volleyball, hockey, badminton, cross country, swimming and track & field...Won the senior lightweight and midweight 4+ at the Canadian High School Championships...Also helped her squad win the heavyweight quad as a junior.

PERSONAL:

Pursuing a degree in English...Has a twin brother, Andy...She has five other siblings: Jennifer, 16; Emily, 13; Maria, 11; and twins Danny and Lisa, 10...Krista Lena Gearing was born on March 11, 1986, in St. Catharine's, Ontario...Her parents are Doug and Luciana Gearing.
