Former Tennessee standout rower Sarah Arms returns to Tennessee for her fifth season as an assistant coach for the Vols in 2016-17. Her primary responsibilities include assisting with the varsity squad and heading up the team's recruiting efforts.
A four-year letterwinner at Tennessee, Arms returned to UT after spending four years as the head coach at the Smoky Mountain Rowing Center. While there, she was responsible for training both adult and junior rowers, coaching both the novice and varsity crews, as well as recruiting new rowers to the program and promoting rowing throughout East Tennessee.
While competing at UT, Arms was part of the program-best ninth-place team finish at the 2007 NCAA Championships. She competed at the 2004 NCAAs, as well as helping the Vols to a 10th-place finish in their first team appearance in 2006.
Arms graduated from Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in animal science with a concentration in management and a business minor in 2007.
