The Lady Vol quintet of sophomore Jovanna Vick (cox.), sophomore Hilary Gilmore, junior Mary Beth Lewis, junior Mary Gruzalski and senior Sally BeVille recorded a time of 8:00.8 to finish nearly 10 seconds ahead of the nearest Tiger boat.
UT's novice 8+ shell, powered by freshmen Maggie Wheeler (cox.), Holly Holmes, Beth Schwartz, Diane Samu, Ashley Anders, Hillary Graber, Katie Peterson, Amy McCormick and Ariana Fitzgerald, also looked impressive, downing Clemson by more than 15 seconds.
