TENNESSEE POSTS PROGRAM-BEST 10TH PLACE AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

SACRAMENTO, Calif.

Racing in the NCAA Championships Petite Final for the first time in program history, the No. 10 (CRCA/US Rowing) Tennessee Lady Volunteer varsity eight shell finished in fourth place on Sunday to post UT's best performance at the national-title event with an overall 10th-place finish.

The Tennessee crew of Erin Artz (cox.), Nicole Bold, Lauren Wells, Chelsea Pemberton, Kaitlin Bargreen, McKenzie Craig, Dana Forbes, Sarah Hutcheson and Andrea Bagwell completed the course in 6:40.36. Sixth-ranked Washington was victorious with a time of 6:37.44 and was followed by Harvard (6:37.89), Virginia (6:38.27), Notre Dame (6:43.00) and Southern California (6:43.16).

In the Grand Final, Brown captured the national championship with a 6:32.90 clocking followed by Yale (6:34.60), Michigan (6:37.10), Princeton (6:37.70), Ohio State (6:38.90) and California (6:40.10).

The Lady Vol season is now complete.
