KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Lady Vol rowing team completed the spring semester with a team GPA of 3.37, with 43 student-athletes achieving a spring GPA of 3.0 or higher.
The university announced academic performance highlights for Spring 2013. The average grade-point average (GPA) for all UT student-athletes was 3.05, including 21 student-athletes who earned a perfect 4.0 GPA. The 3.05 cumulative GPA is the highest for UT's student-athletes since 2003, the earliest year for which sport-by-sport GPA data is available. A record 115 student-athletes were named to their respective Dean's List.
The rowing team was one of the ten programs that recorded a team GPA of 3.0 or higher, men's golf, soccer, softball, men's swimming & diving, women's swimming & diving, men's tennis, women's tennis, women's track & field and volleyball being the other teams. A total of 255 student-athletes (58 percent) posted a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Rowing and three other programs posted their highest team GPA since records started being recorded in 2003. The volleyball team posted the highest GPA with a 3.58 followed by women's tennis (3.54), men's golf (3.37), rowing (3.37), women's swimming & diving (3.30), women's track & field (3.20), men's swimming & diving (3.17), and soccer (3.13), and softball (3.07).
The University of Tennessee announced that seven rowers fulfilled their graduation requirements for the spring semester. Arin Anderson (Kinesiology), Mary-Hannah Daugherty (Sociology), Erika Johnson (Biological Sciences), Andrea Keesecker (Biological Sciences), Karoline Mikolajewski (Music), Laura Miller (Master's in Kinesiology), and Evelyn Radford (Communication Studies) each graduated with their prospective degrees.
