Sander Seeks New Opportunity

June 13, 2014

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Assistant rowing coach Rachel Sander has accepted the position of Director of Program Development for the Marquette University women's basketball program. She will be working alongside long-time friend and head coach Carolyn Kieger.

"Rachel has been a great coach and assistant during her time at Tennessee," said Tennessee rowing head coach Lisa Glenn. "I thank her for her work with us, and wish her the best of luck in her new program development role."

Sander helped coach Tennessee to a second place finish at the 2014 C-USA Championships.

"I want to thank Coach Glenn for giving me the opportunity to work with the Tennessee Rowing Program," Sander said. "While I have enjoyed my time at Tennessee, the Marquette position was an opportunity I just could not pass up."

Sander will remain at Tennessee to assist with summer camps and will make the transition to Marquette in July. The search for her replacement will begin immediately.
