STRATHCLYDE, Scotland - Former Lady Vol Lauren Wells grabbed two medals for her home country of Canada in the Commonwealth Rowing Championships during the two-day event held this weekend at Strathclyde Park.

The London, Ontario, native teamed with Sandra Kilis in the women's pair to top the field. Wells' gold was the only one taken on the first day of competition in Scotland. The duo then climbed into the fours along with Courtney MacIntosh and Isabelle Teolis and came in second. The crew from England took the gold in the fours with a time of 7:07, as the UK bow ball crossing the line just a second before the Canadians.

Wells and her countrymen will now head to Trakai, Lithuania for the 2006 World University Rowing Championships, being held on Aug. 11-13.
