KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee Lady Vol rowing team and head coach Lisa Glenn announced on Friday that the team will welcome alumni for the program's first-ever Class Day Races this Saturday, November 13.
There will be an alumni/current team row from 8-9 a.m. at the Tennessee Rowing Boathouse. 25 rowing alums are expected to attend, with 18 of them getting back into the boats for a row on the Tennessee River.
Rowing alongside the alumni will be crews representing the 2010-11 Tennessee Lady Vol senior class, junior class, sophomore class, freshman class and the novice/freshman class.
"I am honored and excited to celebrate Lady Vol rowers past, present and future this Saturday," Glenn said. "We have a large number of former rowers who are taking valuable time, energy and resources to reunite at the boathouse. It will be an awesome event."
Nine former Tennessee rowers have joined the coaching ranks. Five of those will be present on Saturday: Sarah Hutcheson-Arms, Dana Forbes, Chelsea Pemberton, Laura Miller and current Tennessee assistant Erika Twedt.
The row can be viewed from the Vol Navy Docks at the boathouse.
