Emily Jacobssen joined the Tennessee soccer program as its director of soccer operations in August of 2014.

As UT's director of soccer operations, Jacobssen helps plan and coordinate the team's travel and meals, oversees the team managers and assists with various day-to-day responsibilities that contribute to Tennessee's status as one of the nation's top soccer programs.

Jacobssen, who graduated from The University of Tennessee with a degree in history in 2010, joined the UT soccer staff after working for the Diocese of Knoxville for a year and a half as an associate in health services and stewardship.

Jacobssen also enjoyed a stellar collegiate swimming career and was an NCAA Division III national champion with Kenyon College in 2007. She was an NCAA All-American in 2007 and earned NCAC All-Conference honors six times. She transferred to Tennessee in the spring of 2009. The Knoxville native enjoyed a standout high school swimming career as a Scholastic All-American at Bearden High School, winning a state title and setting state records.

"We're excited to have Emily join our staff," Tennessee head soccer coach Brian Pensky said. "She's a conscientious, hard-working individual. As a past NCAA national champion in the sport of swimming, she also knows what it takes to be great. Of course we love that. And then most importantly, Emily is just a terrific person who will fit right into the fabric of our staff and soccer program."

Jacobssen also previously worked in merchant relations and redemption services for Half Off Depot, Inc., and as a donor relations and special events coordinator at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

She replaced Hemant Sharma, who had served as the director of soccer operations the previous two years and as a member of the UT soccer staff the previous nine.
