CHICAGO -- The U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team announced its roster for the 10 Nations Tournament in La Manga, Spain, this past week and incoming Tennessee soccer signees Carlyn Baldwin and Anna Bialczak made the list to don the Red, White and Blue.
Baldwin and Bialczak, members of UT's 14-member 2014 signing class that ranked No. 11 in the nation by TopDrawerSoccer.com, both have prior experience with the U.S. U-18 team. Baldwin attended the U.S. U-18 Women's National Team training camp in August, October and December of 2013. Bialczak attended the U.S. U-18 training camp in December as well.
"We're obviously extremely happy for Carlyn and Anna," Tennessee head coach Brian Pensky said. "They both have worked incredibly hard to earn an opportunity like this, and there's no doubt that they'll do their best to make the most of it. La Manga will be a terrific event, with outstanding competition - Sweden, Norway and France will certainly test the U.S. group."
The 10 Nations Tournament runs from March 3-13 and the U.S. U-18s will face the U-19 teams from Sweden (March 8), Norway (March 10) and France (March 12).
U.S. Women's Technical Director April Heinrichs has called up 20 players, all but two born in 1996, which is the age cut-off year for the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
