KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee soccer team will host its annual Meet & Greet on Saturday, Aug. 9, at 5 p.m. ET, welcoming fans to Regal Soccer Stadium for an up-close look at the program and an introduction to the 2014 squad.
This annual event marks the beginning of the Tennessee soccer season as the players and coaches engage the best fanbase in the country and provide a 2014 preview for the Big Orange nation. UT will have eight regular season home matches and one home exhibition this year. The Volunteers host Louisville in an exhibition on Aug. 13 and play their first official home match against BYU on Aug. 29. Tennessee's first SEC home contest is on Sept. 26 against Alabama.
Admission is free of charge for the Meet & Greet as well as all 2014 Tennessee soccer regular-season and exhibition home matches.
Regal Soccer Stadium will open its gates at 4:30 p.m. and fans may head to the team's film room to view recent video features about Tennessee soccer.
The Meet & Greet begins at 5 p.m. in the film room as UT head coach Brian Pensky, who is in his third season leading the program, addresses the fans and introduces the players, coaches and staff. Fans can get autographs from their favorite Volunteers from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. outside on the stadium's main concourse.
At 7 p.m., the Tennessee soccer team will play the Orange& White game, giving fans their first look at the 2014 squad in action. Concessions will open at 6 p.m.
The 2014 Tennessee soccer team returns 17 letterwinners from last season, including 2013 All-SEC selection Allie Sirna and 2012 NSCAA All-American Hannah Wilkinson. UT also welcomes 15 exciting newcomers to the team.
