KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee soccer team will host its second-ever Meet and Greet on Saturday, Aug. 10, at Regal Soccer Stadium.
Fans will be able to interact with Tennessee head coach Brian Pensky, his coaching staff and members of the 2013 team from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. with autographs, a season preview and the chance to sign up for UT soccer prizes.
The team will then hold an Orange and White intra-squad scrimmage at 7 p.m. Concessions will be open during the scrimmage.
Admission is free and all fans in attendance will receive a voucher for free admission to Tennessee's 2013 season and home opener against Oklahoma on Aug. 23 at 7:30 p.m.
"This is a terrific opportunity for many reasons - our fans get to spend valuable time with our players, and vice versa of course," Pensky said. "Then our players get to play an 11v11 game. Albeit an intra-squad, it's still an opportunity for players to show their teammates and coaches that they've prepared well throughout the summer. Hopefully we'll see many soccer fans at Regal on the 10th!"
The Lady Vols enter the 2013 season with a team that is 31-players strong. UT is in its second year under the direction of head coach Brian Pensky, who led Tennessee to a 14-5-3 record and its 10th NCAA Tournament appearance in 2012. In the recently-released SEC Preseason Soccer Coaches' Poll, Tennessee was picked to finish third in the SEC by the league's coaches.
Come on down to Regal Soccer Stadium on Aug. 10 to meet Tennessee's 16 returning veterans and 15 exciting newcomers and enjoy a fun night of soccer!
