Wilkinson has been named to the Third Team and Baldwin has been selected for the Freshmen Team. The TopDrawerSoccer.com preseason Best XI teams honor the NCAA Division I players most likely to enjoy stellar campaigns in 2014.
Wilkinson, who is a member of the New Zealand Women's National Team, was also on the TopDrawerSoccer.com preseason Best XI in 2013. In her two seasons at Tennessee, Wilkinson has tallied 13 goals and six assists for 32 points over 32 appearances. Some of her international accomplishments include playing for New Zealand in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup and the 2012 London Olympics. Last fall, Wilkinson scored a pair of goals in two friendlies between New Zealand and the U.S. Women's National Team, including an 87th-minute score against Hope Solo on Oct. 30 that produced a 1-1 tie.
Baldwin is currently on the U.S. U-20 Women's National Team and competing in the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Canada. The Americans open play tonight against Germany at 7 p.m. ET on ESPNU. The match is being played at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Canada. The U.S. will then have two days of rest before facing Brazil on Aug. 8 in Edmonton in the second group match followed by three days of rest - including a travel day to Moncton in the far eastern part of Canada - before finishing group play against China PR on Aug. 12.
The Tennessee soccer team hosts Louisville in an exhibition on Aug. 13 at 5 p.m. ET at Regal Soccer Stadium. UT officially opens the 2014 season against Milwaukee on Aug. 22 in Madison, Wis.
