The Orange & White enter the match-up 9-5 all-time in season openers with victories in five of their last seven lid lifters. Last year, UT got a pair of goals from senior midfielder/forward Mick Imgram in downing ETSU, 2-0, and christening the 2009 campaign with a win.
Last Saturday, Tennessee ventured to "The Bluegrass State" for a preseason exhibition contest against Louisville at Cardinal Park in Louisville, Ky. Goals by midfielders Julie Edwards (senior) and Caroline Brown (freshman) boosted the Big Orange to a two-score advantage early in the second half en route to an eventual 2-1 Lady Vol triumph.

Western Kentucky enters Friday night's match coming off a 2009 campaign that saw it post a 14-4-2 record and set a school record for league wins with nine in Sun Belt action. The Lady Toppers return five starters from that squad including 2010 Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference selections Mallory Outerbridge and Libby Stout. Last weekend during exhibition action, WKU tied three-time defending Conference USA champ Memphis, 1-1, and downed Butler, 1-0.
