» Tennessee has won seven consecutive season openers, dating back to 2007. UT is 2-0 in season openers under head coach Brian Pensky. Tennessee took a 4-0 win over Samford in 2012 and took a 3-1 win over Oklahoma in the 2013 opener.

» Milwaukee was picked to win the Horizon League. UWM has won 14-straight Horizon League regular season titles and six straight league tourney titles.
» Milwaukee returns the bulk of last year's roster, including league player of the year Kelly Lewers and First-Team All-Horizon League selections Krissy Dorre and Kelsey Holbert, all of which are entering their senior campaigns. All-league second-team member and senior Amy Kauffung leads the defensive unit, while all-freshman members Paige Lincicum and Kelly Manski will start their sophomore seasons with the Black and Gold.
