KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee junior Cheyenne Spade was named to the CS360 Primetime Performers Weekly Honor Roll for Week 2.
The Primetime Performers Honor Roll differs from many other weekly awards as it takes into account the quality of opponents and other situational factors. Spade is the first UT player to garner CS360 weekly honors since Julie Eckel was named the CS360 National Primetime Player of the Week on Oct. 23, 2012.
Spade had a major impact for Tennessee this week with three big assists over two starts and 125 minutes of play.
Against No. 17 UCF on Friday, Spade dealt assists on both of UT's goals as the team rallied for a 2-1 upset win. With Tennessee down, 1-0, in the 54th minute, Spade arced in a beautiful free kick into the box that was right on goal for Katie Lenz to tap in for the equalizer. In the 81st minute, Spade fired another nice free kick into the box to find and diving Hannah Wilkinson there for the header into the back of the net.
In Tennessee's 2-0 win over James Madison on Sunday, Spade found Hannah Wilkinson for a breakaway into the box in the fourth minute. Wilkinson got past the goalkeeper to net the game winner.
Tennessee will next host Dayton on Friday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m. Admission to all 2013 regular-season Tennessee soccer matches at Regal Soccer Stadium is free. The game will feature a free live video broadcast on UTSports.com with Brian Rice on the call, Tori Beeler Watson providing analysis and Dani Klupenger reporting from the sideline.
