SAVIESE, Switzerland -- Tennessee's Hannah Wilkinson scored the match-winner in the 53rd minute to help her New Zealand women's national team defeat China, 4-0, on Wednesday and win the 2013 Valais Women's Cup at Stade St-Germain in Savièse, Switzerland.
Off of a Ria Percival free kick just outside the box, Wilkinson had a driving header to the center of the net to give New Zealand a 1-0 lead in the 53rd minute. Amber Hearn scored the second goal in the 64th minute and Rosie White scored the third goal in the 82nd before Hearn scored again in the 87th.
Wilkinson, who has represented her home country in the FIFA Women's World Cup and the Olympics, continues to shine on the international stage. Her goal on Wednesday was her third score for New Zealand in the 2013 calendar year.
