KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- We recently caught up with a bunch of our Tennessee soccer alumni at Regal Stadium.
Sarah Van Sickle (2005-08) was a tough left back during her Tennessee career, playing in 76 games for the Lady Vols. UT went to the NCAA Tournament in each of her four years with two trips to the Sweet Sixteen. In her 2005 rookie season she played in 21 games and made 16 starts on the back line to help lead UT to achieve the “Triple Crown” (SEC regular season title, SEC Tournament title, NCAA Tournament berth).
That toughness and passion for motivating others that was a trademark for her at Tennesse continues to this day in her new mission. Sarah’s “What’s Beautiful: Team Knoxville” program is a boot-camp style fitness class that empowers women to become more confident in themselves and raise their self-esteem. In July, she won Under Armour’s “What’s Beautiful” contest after achieving her goal to instill self-esteem in at least 250 women. A self-proclaimed “beauty-hunter,” Sarah continues working to improve the lives of women through fitness.
