Wilkinson, NZ Set For 2 Matches vs. U.S.

Oct. 22, 2013

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee junior forward Hannah Wilkinson will re-join the New Zealand Women's National Team in preparation for the Football Ferns' two-match friendly series against the U.S. Women's National Team on Oct. 27 and Oct. 30.

Wilkinson and the Kiwis will face Team USA on Oct. 27 at 3:30 p.m. PT (6:30 p.m. ET) at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, Calif. The teams will play again on Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. Fans can follow both matches on ussoccer.com's MatchTracker and on Twitter by following @ussoccer_wnt.

The matches will bring the U.S. and New Zealand together for the first time since the quarterfinals of the 2012 Olympics, when the U.S. earned a 2-0 victory on Aug. 3, 2012, in Newcastle, England, on goals from Abby Wambach and Sydney Leroux. The U.S. is currently ranked No. 1 and New Zealand is No. 19 in the FIFA/Coca-Cola Women's World Ranking.

Wilkinson last starred for New Zealand in September's 2013 Valais Women's Cup in Switzerland. She scored the match-winner for the Kiwis in the 53rd minute of a 4-0 win over China in the championship match.

In her international playing career, Wilkinson has made 45 caps for New Zealand and scored 15 goals.
