Brown, Capocaccia Named Academic All-District 3

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee seniors Caroline Brown and Caroline Capocaccia have been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 3 Women's Soccer Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday.

Brown and Capocaccia each earned All-District 3 first-team honors. The Capital One Academic All-District Women's Soccer Teams recognize top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in November.

Brown is a sports management major with a 3.96 GPA and has earned academic honors in each of her four seasons at UT. In 2010-11, Brown was named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll. She was on the 2011 and 2012 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll and garnered 2011 Capital One Academic All-District 3 First Team and Capital One Academic All-America Third Team honors. Last year, Brown as named to the NSCAA Scholar All-South Region Second Team.

Capocaccia is a kinesiology major and pre-med student with a 3.88 GPA and has also garnered academic accolades in each of her four years at Tennessee. Capocaccia was named to the 2010-11 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll and was on the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll in 2011 and 2012. In 2012, she was a NSCAA Scholar All-South Region Honorable Mention.
