AS A FRESHMAN (2005):

Tallied a third inning score as a pinch runner in a five-run outburst as UT advanced to the Women's College World Series with a 6-0 NCAA Super Regional victory over No. 4 Stanford...Scored as a pinch runner in the 4-0 NCAA Regional win over the College of Charleston...Delivered a run-scoring double in the 19-0 win over N.C. A&T...Delivered a hit against Mississippi State (3/19) and a pinch-hit single in a 1-0, nine-inning win over LSU in Baton Rouge, La...Hit a monstrous three-run home run as a pinch hitter in the 14-0 rout of Pacific (2/25) in the Palm Springs Classic that traveled close to 300 feet...Hit safely in four consecutive contests from Mercer (2/19) through Oregon State (2/25) while batting .833 (5-of-6)...Hammered a three-run home run against Mercer (2/19) at the GSU Invitational in Statesboro, Ga....Went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored in the 5-0 victory over homestanding Georgia Southern (2/19)...Showed a hint of her future promise with her first home run and RBI in the 8-0 run-rule victory over Gardner-Webb (2/5) at the Clearwater Invitational...Bell's towering shot to center field in the third inning gave UT a 4-0 advantage and was the initial hit of her career...Laced a single in three at-bats in the 4-0 triumph over Louisville (2/6).

HIGH SCHOOL:

A second-team All-California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) choice in 2002...A four-year letterwinner, Bell helped her Valencia High School squad to three consecutive CIF league titles from 2001-2003...Two of the three seasons, her team posted an undefeated league record of 10-0...A high school starter since her freshman season, she represented the Southern California Stealth at the 2003 Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA) Nationals alongside her current UT teammate Shannon Doepking...She also participated on the Southern California Jets in the American Fastpitch Association (AFA) Nationals in 2000 and 2002, as well as at the 2001 Western Nationals...Bell was the Stealth's leader in home runs during the national event.

Enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences...Lists playing at the ASA Nationals (2003) as her biggest thrill to date in softball...Fulfilled an ambition by reaching the 2005 Women's College World Series...Is interested in the culinary arts, music and scrapbooking...Has had two relatives involved in softball, as older sisters Keyna and Heather Bell played at Loyola Marymount (1998) and Southern Mississippi (2001-2004), respectively...Came to UT because of the coaching staff and the great team chemistry...Aspires to become a restaurateur...Has three sisters, Keisha, 33; Keyna, 26; and Heather, 23...Kortney Nicole Bell was born June 19, 1986, in Woodland Hills, Calif...Her parents are Greg and Trudy Bell.
