Allowed four hits and a pair of runs with five K in four frames as the Orange took the nightcap from Lipscomb on April 29, 6-2...Started the second game of the set with No. 10 Georgia and left with a 2-1 lead...Hurled 4.2 innings and gave up five hits and one run with three punchouts...However, the Bulldogs rallied for a 4-3 decision...Picked up her second save of the campaign with 1.1 perfect innings against Kentucky on April 9...Delivered a pinch-hit, two-run single in the first win over the Wildcats...Allowed three hits and no runs over three innings against Arkansas on April 5 but was not involved in the decision...Combined with Stephanie Humphrey to hold Austin Peay to three hits in a 4-0 shutout on March 26...Hurled five innings in relief of Stacey Jennings against Princeton on March 20, giving up five hits and four runs, although none of them was earned...Set a personal standard with six strikeouts...Suffered the defeat in the opener of the Alabama series, as she gave up eight hits and five runs in three innings during the 9-1 setback...Was the beneficiary of UT's eight-run sixth-inning explosion against ETSU on March 12 to secure her fourth win...Allowed one hit and an unearned run over 3.2 innings after coming on for Humphrey...Picked up the decision in the second game against Lipscomb and shared the 3-0 shutout...Helped herself with a 2-for-3 performance at the dish for her first multiple-hit effort as a Lady Vol...Started the finale of the series at No. 7 LSU but took the loss after allowing four runs (three earned) on three hits in 2.1 innings...Credited with her first save in UT's 3-2 upset win over the Tigers on March 8...The righty had started the contest before being relieved by Humphrey....She later re-entered the circle for Jennings...Totaled three scoreless innings in the doubleheader sweep of Belmont on March 5...Enjoyed a successful starting debut on March 1, when she worked 5.1 innings, surrendering four hits and one run with three K, in an 8-1 shellacking of Florida A&M...Joined Buffy Walker as the lone Lady Vol rookies to claim their first starting assignment...Walker had accomplished the feat during a 5-4 edging of Baylor on Feb. 24, 1996, which happened to be the first win in school history...Notched the first victory of her career by tossing four scoreless innings in relief of Humphrey against Syracuse on Feb. 23...The Lady Vols ended up posting a 4-2 win to claim the UNLV Tournament...Pitched 8.1 innings over three appearances during her visit to Las Vegas and registered a 3.36 ERA after giving up eight hits and four runs with three Ks...After missing the first eight games of the campaign, Christy made her collegiate debut during the nightcap against Appalachian State on Feb. 19...Relieved Jennings in the sixth inning against the Mountaineers and fanned three batters over her two innings of action while allowing two hits...Struck out the initial batter she faced on the Division I level, ASU's Jordan Arnold...Had been sidelined since Jan. 22 due to injury problems.


HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterwinner at Broad Run High School, Christy pitched her club to the state championship in 2000 and a runner-up performance in 2002...Claimed the Gatorade Player of the Year honor for Virginia after a phenomenal senior campaign...In the Spartans' 28 games, she did not allow a single earned run, while pitching all but one inning...Christy finished the season with a 26-2 mark and a spotless 0.00 ERA in 205 innings...She registered a state-record 435 strikeouts and walked only 17 hitters...Amazingly, she hurled four perfect games, six no-hitters, six one-hitters and tossed 23 shutouts...She closed out her career with a stingy 0.16 ERA with 1,394 strikeouts and only 18 earned runs, 12 of which came during her freshman season...Not solely limited to the circle, Christy finished with a .465 batting average, 34 RBI and four home runs...Chosen as a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Second-Team All-American and the Washington Post All-Met Player of the Year as a junior...Following that impressive year, Christy took home a bushel of postseason accolades...Among her honors included first-team NFCA All-South Region and first-team All-Met from the Washington Post, first-team all-state, first-team all-region and region player of the year, first-team all-district and district player of the year, Loudoun County All-Extra Player of the Year, Loudoun Times Mirror Top Athlete of the Year for Softball in addition to being tabbed as her team's MVP...That season, the right-hander pitched every game for the Spartans, compiling a 21-2 mark with a scant 0.13 ERA (three earned runs in 164.1 innings), 296 strikeouts, 17 shutouts, eight one-hitters, six no-hitters and a pair of perfect games...With her efforts, she helped BRHS to its third-straight district championship...Paced her club in an assortment of offensive categories: slugging percentage (.761), batting average (.511), total bases (67), hits (45) and runs batted in (38)...Spearheaded the Spartans' drive to their initial Virginia AA state championship as a sophomore by striking out 23 batters and delivering a two-out, two-run triple in the 11th inning of the title game....Wound up with a 25-3 record in the circle with a 0.10 ERA and a then-school-record 375 Ks...Broad Run also claimed the AA Northwestern District Tournament crown and the AA Region II championship, as Christy was named as the Virginia AA All-State Player of the Year, first-team NFCA All-South Region and first-team all-state, among other awards.

PERSONAL: Enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences...Ambition is to compete in the Women's College World Series...Regards her father as her biggest influence since he introduced her to pitching and coached her from the age of seven...Considers one of her biggest athletic thrills as signing with UT...Enjoys attending sporting events and listening to music...Has one sister, Sarina, 22...Christina Marie Anch was born Dec. 26, 1983, in Leesburg, Va...Her parents are Al and June Anch...Her father played baseball at Coastal Carolina University from 1974-78 and played one year professionally in the Class A Carolina League.
