AS A SOPHOMORE (2004):

Turned in a .233 showing in SEC encounters...Delivered a .308 (4-for-13) clip during the SEC Tournament, with one hit in each of UT's four outings...Contributed a pair of RBI in the 5-3 upset of No. 7 Georgia and laced a run-scoring single against No. 16 Alabama later that night...Cranked her sixth dinger of the year in the seventh inning of the first encounter with Lipscomb on April 29...Wound up the First Tennessee Round Robin with a 3-for-3 effort with a couple of RBI in the 9-1 pasting of Liberty...Provided the winning margin in the second meeting with the Lady Flames with a solo homer in the sixth inning that gave the hosts a 2-0 lead...Had two hits in each outing of the series with Mississippi State, scored five runs and bashed three doubles...Was a perfect 2-for-2 in UT's 2-1 edging of Alabama on March 15...Smoked ETSU's pitching with four hits in seven at bats and scored three runs...Managed an RBI single in UT's 3-2 triumph over seventh-ranked LSU...Accounted for a 3-for-6 afternoon against Belmont and scored three times...Her 11-game hitting streak came to an end against Furman on March 2 when she went 0-for-4...During the skein, Katherine was 19-for-36 for a scorching .528 clip and drove in 12 runs...Registered a .333 (6-for-18) showing at Florida International's tournament and scored six runs...Socked a homer and wound up 2-for-4 with three RBI versus Furman on March 1...Came across with the winning run in a 3-2 win over FIU on Feb. 28...Produced a 2-for-3 outing against Buffalo to start the Golden Panther Invitational...Caught fire at the UNLV Tournament, as she hit a scintillating .688 (11-for-16) with six RBI and three home runs to snare the Most Valuable Player honors...Raised her average from .188 (3-for-16) to .438 (14-for-32) over the five games in Las Vegas...Was a one-woman wrecking crew against Syracuse on Feb. 23, as she smacked a game-tying home run in the third inning and plated Fishback and pinch runner Kristen Hays with the go-ahead runs with two down in the fifth...Finished 2-for-3 in the second victory over ULM and turned a double play with the bases loaded to snuff out a Lady Indian rally in a 3-2 game...Was 2-for-3 and scored a run during Stacey Jennings' perfecto against UNLV...Was 3-for-3 in the tournament opener versus UL-Monroe and provided the Orange with an insurance run with the first HR of her career in the bottom of the sixth...Had a .333 showing in the doubleheader sweep of Appalachian State...Was 1-for-2 in her first action at Tyson Park and 1-for-4 in the second outing...Poked a two-run single in the five-run fifth stanza to help the Orange to a 7-0 romp in game two...Plated Angela Brewer and Blaine Teasley against Appalachian State with a base-hit that earned her the first RBI of her career...Poked first career hit with an infield single on Feb. 7 against UMKC and later scored her team's lone run of the game...Was rewarded for the effort against the Kangaroos with her initial offensive player of the game honor...Gunned down San Jose State's Megan Delgado at third base in UT's opener, earning her the inaugural Jimmy Chitwood Award for outstanding defensive play.
