"Kim is a player who has improved significantly in all aspects of the game. She has a strong arm and excellent defensive skills and can play virtually every position on the field, except pitcher and catcher. This season, we feel that Kim will be a major contributor in the utility role. We are confident when she is in the game."

AS A FRESHMAN (2003): Saw time in 40 games for Tennessee, primarily as either the first or second pinch runner off the bench or as a defensive replacement...Responsible for one of the most dramatic plays of the campaign, as she fired a bullet to the plate with two out in the bottom of the eighth inning to preserve a scoreless tie versus No. 12 LSU in the opening round of the SEC Tournament...Tigers would plate decisive run in the ninth, though...
At Bats:1 (four times)
Runs:1 (five times)
Walks:1 vs. Belmont (3/5)
Enjoyed her second start of the season in the second contest at Lipscomb on April 29...Collegiate starting debut came during the opener of the series against No. 23 Florida, when Kim patrolled right field...Made one putout at Auburn and was 0-for-1 at the plate...Scored the opening run of UT's 2-0 upset of No. 13 South Carolina on Lauren Mattox's RBI double...Kim had replaced Kristi Durant, who had also doubled in that frame...Made several nice plays as a defensive replacement in the third game of the Alabama set...Came across on Blaine Teasley's double for UT's second run in the sixth frame on March 12 versus East Tennessee State...The Orange would add six more scores to notch an 8-3 triumph...Saw time in both right field and at shortstop in the twinbill versus Belmont on March 5...Notched an outfield assist in the fifth inning of game two when she gunned down the Bruins' Julie Castelli attempting to stretch a single into a double...Contributed a sacrifice and drew a walk during the pair of meetings with the Bruins...Played left field during game two of the doubleheader against Appalachian State on Feb. 19 but did not bat...Moved into right field against Jacksonville in the third inning on Feb. 8 and wound up 0-for-1...First action in the field was at second base as a substitute for Mandie Fishback against defending national champion California on Feb. 1...Also scored in the first meeting against the Golden Bears.

HIGH SCHOOL: Helped guide Unicoi County High School to the Tennessee state championship as a senior with an impressive 50-3 overall mark...Earned four varsity letters in softball as UCHS claimed four straight regional and district titles during her tenure...Made all-conference and all-district for three consecutive seasons on the diamond...Was tabbed as the district's MVP as a junior and received honorable mention all-state accolades in '02...Four-time letterwinner in both basketball and cross country and earned one letter in golf...Chosen all-conference and all-district on the hardwood during her junior and senior seasons...Her hoop team claimed the 2002 regional championship, as she was named as the Most Valuable Player of the regional and later picked up All-Upper North East Tennessee honors...Was a three-time all-district and all-region pick as a harrier, with her squad capturing the regional crown in her final campaign...Was chosen as homecoming queen...Member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Art Club at UCHS, where she graduated with honors.

PERSONAL: Majoring in public horticulture...Hopes to graduate from UT's Veterinary School with a doctorate in veterinary medicine...Regards Baseball Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith as a positive influence on her because every time he stepped on the field, he brought his heart and gave it his all...Hobbies include camping, fishing and hiking...Models herself after former home run champion Roger Maris because no matter how many people did not want him to break Babe Ruth's record, he still came to the field every day with a goal he knew he could reach...Chose to attend Tennessee because of its great academic reputation and the outstanding support given to the Lady Vols...Former teammates playing college softball include Katie Baxter (Milligan College), Katie Lewis (East Tennessee State) and Deanna Rice (Walters State)...Has an older brother, Lucas, 21...Kimberly Anne Anders was born April 29, 1984, in Erwin, Tenn...Her parents are Mike and Terry Anders.
