Chosen as a member of the All-Southeastern Conference Freshman Team after hitting .283 (49-of-173) with 11 doubles, a triple, six home runs and 43 RBIs during her rookie campaign in the Orange & White...Started 63 of 64 games with Tennessee in 2008, 54 of them at first base...Twice reaped SEC Freshman of the Week honors (3/3, 4/7) after hitting .500 with a two-bagger and seven RBIs on the way to NFCA Leadoff Classic All-Tournament honors and by reaching base 9-of-14 times (.538 avg.) she came to the plate with eight RBIs over a five-game stretch including a doubleheader whitewash of ETSU and the first three-game home sweep of #14 Georgia in UT program history...Delivered 12 multi-hit and 11 multi-RBI games in 2008...In NCAA Regional action, Lapicki hit .353 overall and chalked up a 4-for-4 day with a two-run HR and four RBis against Louisville (5/17)...Also responsible for knocking in four runs against Austin Peay (4/22)...Chalked up a perfect 3-for-3 day at the dish with two runs scored and three RBIs as the Orange downed #14 UGA 9-0 (6 inn., 4/5)...Her efforts at the plate were crucial in an 8-5 win over Florida State (3/1) in Columbus, Ga., as Lapicki delivered three hits and knocked in four total runs...Blasted her first career grand slam in the 14-0 (5 inn.) rout of Wagner (2/23) with a career-best five RBI...Ripped a two-run shot to left in helping down #18 Oregon State (2/10)...Delivered a solo shot for her first career collegiate round-tripper in an eventual 5-2 triumph over UC-Davis (2/8) that helped give UT some breathing room in a then one-run contest...Made quite a debut for the Lady Vols with a 2-for-3, two-RBI effort and a triple in the 8-0 (5 inn.) season-opening win over Utah State (2/8)...Tabbed to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Scholar-Athlete Team.


The first Tennessee Lady Vol softball player to hail from the state of New Jersey, Lapicki comes to the Orange & White with a slew of accolades in tow...A first-team all-conference selection from 2004-07, the Oldwick, N.J., native hit .528 in 2007 while breaking her own single season records with 13 doubles and 18 extra-base hits...In her career, Lapicki registered 39 doubles, 11 triples and 12 home runs while never committing an error at the catching position over four seasons...Was chosen as the Somerset County Player of the Year (2007) after helping Immaculata H.S. to a county championship with a 14-8 record...Tabbed first-team all-county on three occasions (2005-07) and second-team all-county in 2004...Third-team all-public from 2005-07 and twice second-team all-area (2005, 2006)...Named as a "Player to Watch" in 2006...Served two seasons as team captain while lettering in both softball (four times) and basketball (once)...Also participated in other extracurricular activities, including the Spanish Honor Society (2004-07) and Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD)...Was honored as the 2005 New Jersey Science Fair Winner and was presented with the Mu Alpha Theta award for physics (2005).


Enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences...Her biggest thrill to date in softball was being a finalist for the U.S. Junior National Softball Team...Her grandfather John Pollina played for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball...Claims to have modeled herself after U.S. National Team member Jessica Mendoza...Hopes to go into collegiate coaching or education after graduating...Has two brothers: Steven, 25, and Michael, 23, who both played collegiate baseball...Jennifer Alfonsina Lapicki was born Feb. 2, 1989, in Paterson, N.J....Her parents are Walter and Susan Lapicki.
