HIGH SCHOOL:

Vaughn enters Tennessee after helping guide her team to three straight district titles (2002-04), two-consecutive regional crowns (2003, 2004) and the 2004 Tennessee State Championship with a 35-10 record...Chosen by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) to its 2004 and 2005 Class AA all-state teams...Known for her prolific batting totals, Vaughn registered averages of .509, .513, .595 and .656 while picking up four All-District (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005) nods and a 2004 and 2005 all-state nod...She was named as the Knoxville News-Sentinel's PrepXtra Softball Player of the Year (2005)...Vaughn registered 48 steals in 48 attempts while hitting .656 from her leadoff spot with seven HR's in `05...During her junior campaign, she not only hit at a .595 clip, but also tallied 10 home runs, 29 walks and stole over 40 bases...A four-year captain in softball, Vaughn made a name for herself as an All-District basketball (two letters) and volleyball player (one letter) at Lenoir City...On the hardwood, Vaughn reaped two all-district nods during her freshman and sophomore campaigns ('02, '03)...Was chosen as an all-district and all-region selection on the volleyball court during her senior year...Hit a team-best four home runs and served as a captain while helping lead her Chattanooga Yankettes travel team to a 7-0 mark at the 2004 Colorado Fireworks Tournament.

Enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences...Served as president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Lenoir City High School during her senior year...Member of the Superintendents Board and Academic Incentive Program for outstanding grades at L.C.H.S...UT runs in her family as Vaughn's parents both attended Tennessee...Has modeled herself athletically after former Lady Vol All-American and current Sacramento Monarchs (WNBA) guard Kara Lawson because of her solid work ethic on and off the basketball court...Desires to attend medical school and become a doctor following her collegiate career...Has one brother, Travis, 16...Sarah Elizabeth Vaughn was born October 20, 1986, in Knoxville, Tenn....Her parents are Eddie and Kathy Vaughn.
