KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Lexi Overstreet's three-run home run and Erin Gabriel's seven shutout innings led No. 3/2 Tennessee to a 5-0 win over Holy Cross on Friday afternoon at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

The Lady Vols (18-1) scored three runs in third and two in the sixth to earn the win over Holy Cross (1-5) in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

Overstreet led the team offensively with a three-run home run in the third inning. Taylor Koenig had an RBI single, and Melissa Davin, Madison Shipman and Annie Aldrete each had one hit as well.

Gabriel (4-0) fanned seven over seven innings, allowing two hits and no walks. Friday's showing marks her second complete game of the season. Gennifer Durham (1-2), who allowed four hits and three walks over 5.1 innings, picks up the loss for Holy Cross.

Tennessee's first run came in the bottom of the third inning. After a Megan Geer walk and a Shipman single, Overstreet slammed a three-run home run over the right center wall. She now has five home runs and 16 RBIs on the season.

The Big Orange added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Aldrete hit a triple to the left field wall and scored on a wild pitch. A few batters later, Davin hit a single, advanced to second on an Akamine groundout and scored on a Koenig hit.
