KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Setting a Tennessee record for most home runs in a single game, the No. 10 national seed Lady Vols crushed six home runs to defeat Virginia Tech, 12-0 (5), on Saturday afternoon in Game 4 of the Knoxville Regional.

The Lady Vols (44-10) were led by freshman Annie Aldrete, who notched two home runs, her 18th and 19th of the season, to tie Lauren Gibson's single-season home run record of 19 set in 2013.

Tennessee scored two runs in the first, four in the second and six in the third. Virginia Tech (36-22) collected two hits, but went scoreless.

Aldrete fired out a 2-run home run in the first to set the pace for the Lady Vols. She sent a solo homerun to left center in the second, and finished the day 2-for-3 with two runs and 3 RBIs. Megan Geer slammed a 3-run homer in the second, marking her first homer since April 12 against Texas A&M.

Sophomore Lexi Overstreet smacked a 3-run home run at the top of the third to give UT a 9-0 lead, while sophomore Rainey Gaffin followed with a solo HR, stretching the Lady Vols' lead to 10-0. Madison Shipman capped of the third inning with a 2-run homer, marking the sixth home run for Tennessee in the game to break the UT single-game homerun record.

Ellen Renfroe (28-6) threw five scoreless innings to earn the victory and her 10th shutout of the year. She allowed just two hits while striking out four. Maggie Tyler (15-9) took the loss after issuing six earned runs over 4.1 frames. Elizabeth Birle allowed six earned runs in 0.2 innings pitched.

Tennessee will play the winner of Saturday's Game 5 between Virginia Tech and the winner of Game 4 (Charleston Southern vs. Lipscomb) at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday. If necessary Game 7 of the Knoxville Regional will be played on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
