KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - After two grueling days of team building and overcoming adversity in The Program the Tennessee softball team returned was back on the softball practice field on Wednesday and Thursday.
The Lady Vols took to the Neyland-Thompson Sports Center indoor field on Wednesday and the team was ready for action.
"The kids came out with a lot of enthusiasm," co-head coach Karen Weekly said. "The hustle was outstanding, the communication was outstanding and they were holding each other accountable for those things."
BOOST FROM THE PROGRAM
The team was very vocal on the field and worked together well after Monday and Tuesday's rigorous work with The Program.
Players were encouraging each other on good throws and hits and vocal when mistakes were made. The Lady Vols feel that their boot camp experience will be a huge benefit moving forward.
"I think we had had really good energy," senior outfielder Kat Dotson said. "I feel like from the past two days and what we had been doing, we really carried it into the practice. We had a lot of energy and we're really excited to be back and just get things in the swing of motion. I think everyone was really committed to doing what they were supposed to do over break and came back ready to play. Everyone's just really excited."
