Only 22 days remain until the start of the 2014 Tennessee softball season! Today we take a look at six Lady Vols who have worn No. 22! Let's take a look at the careers of Ashley Andrews (2009-12 and pictured above), Lauren Mattox, Kortney Bell, Nicole Johnson, Heather Moore, and Erin Gabriel!

In January and February will count down the days remaining until the start of the Lady Vols' 2014 campaign (Feb. 7) with looks back at the many Lady Vols who donned jersey numbers 30-00.

#22 Heather Moore

Moore was the first of six Lady Vols to wear No. 22. She started all 68 games for UT in 1996 at designated hitter or in the outfield and hit .359 with 69 hits, 40 RBIs and three home runs. In 1997, Moore hit .254, scored 19 runs, recorded 33 hits, and had 26 RBIs for the Orange and White.

- Notes fishing, horseback riding, country and western dancing, and snow/water skiing as other interests
- Began playing softball at the age of four

#22 Lauren Mattox

Mattox joined the Lady Vols as a junior in 2003 after playing for UNC Wilmington her first two years. She was a potent hitter for the Lady Vols, hitting .341 with six homers, 25 doubles, 75 RBIs and 42 runs over her two years in Knoxville. She made an immediate impact for UT, hitting .338 overall and racking up 47 hits, five homers, 10 doubles, 41 RBIs and 22 runs en route to NFCA All-South Region honors in 2003. Mattox finished her 2004 senior season with a .342 average, 63 hits, one homer, 15 doubles, 34 RBIs and 20 runs.

#22 Ashley Andrews
2009-12 | UTL | 5-7 | R/R | Tumwater, Washington.

Andrews is the only Lady Vol to don No. 22 all four years and she was one of the most versatile utility players in UT history. As a freshman in 2009, Andrews started all 59 contests at shortstop hitting .299 with 44 hits, 22 runs, seven RBIs and eight stolen bases. In 2010, Andrews saw action at both shortstop and catcher while achieving personal bests in power hitting (four homers, four doubles, three triples, 20 RBIs). Andrews moved behind the plate for the majority of 2011 hitting .232 with one homer, nine RBIs, two doubles and 28 runs. As a senior in 2012, Andrews hit .243 with 34 hits, one homer, two doubles, nine RBIs and 28 runs for the Lady Vols. She is currently serving as a team manager for Tennessee.

- Chose Tennessee from a list of schools that included Stanford, Oregon State and Washington

#22 Erin Gabriel
2013-pres. | P | 5-7 | R/R | Poland, Ohio

Sophomore pitcher Erin Gabriel currently dons the old double deuce. Gabriel was limited in her 2013 due to injury, but still went 5-1 with a 2.66 ERA and 38 strikeouts over nine games and 29.0 innings in the circle. The hard-throwing Poland, Ohio, native is ready for an exciting sophomore year.

- Won gold with the USA Softball Junior Women's National Team in the 2011 ISF Junior Women's World Championship in South Africa
- Favorite athlete and sports role model is Jennie Finch
