BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - After one of the finest individual tournament performances in Tennessee Lady Vol softball history this past weekend at the BYU Red Desert Classic in St. George, Utah, junior Tiffany Huff has been rewarded for her stellar work with her first career selection as the Southeastern Conference's Player of the Week.

The 5-7 catcher/first baseman hit .647 (11 of 17) over the five-game weekend with two doubles, two home runs and a staggering 15 RBIs. Huff's finest game occurred during a 16-0 (5 inn.) rout of San Jose State as she went 3-for-4 at the plate with a three-run homer and a career-high six RBI. The Saugus, Calif., native also posted a 3-for-4, four RBI effort against Northern Colorado, a 3-for-4, five RBI performance with a home run versus Utah State, and a perfect 2-for-2 day with two walks against BYU. Huff slugged 1.118 overall while recording a .684 on-base percentage and moved into the Lady Vol record book for career RBIs at No. 10 with 127.

No. 12 Tennessee (4-1) next ventures to Orlando, Fla., over Feb. 13-15 to participate in the UCF Early Bird Tournament. UT will open play on Friday, Feb. 13th with a 9 a.m. contest against North Florida. The Big Orange will also battle UT-Arlington, UCF, Kansas and Villanova during the event.
