The number 1 ranked Lady Vol Softball team will take on the Arkansas Lady Razorbacks for a weekend series March 24th and 25th at Tennessee Field in Tyson Park, the series will also serve host to the annual food drive to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee. A doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. is slated for the 24th and a single game will be played on the 25th also starting at 1 p.m.
Lady Vol fans will receive free admission for a minimum donation of two non-perishable food items. Fans will need to bring the items to the ticket booth at Tennessee Field in Tyson Park, gates will open at noon for both contests.
Lady Volunteer basketball fans donated approximately 1,500 pounds of food when the Lady Vol basketball team took on the Mississippi State Bulldogs late in January.
Second Harvest recovers food to distribute to 350 plus agencies in an 18 county area. Last year Second Harvest distributed 9.1 million pounds of food; this was enough food to provide 7 million meals to hungry people in the community.
Normal admission prices are $5 for adults and $3 for youth ages 18 and under.
