Former Lady Vols to be Spotlighted Between Saturday Softball Games

The University of Tennessee will spotlight 15 former Lady Vol student-athletes between games one and two of Saturday's Lady Vol softball games against Alabama who are featured in Debby Shriver's In the Footsteps of Champions book, which was released in November.

Shriver's book provides a look into the first 30 years of Lady Vol athletics with first-person stories from coaches and student-athletes, unique, behind the scenes views and a large collection of Lady Vol photographs.

Among the former student-athletes to be spotlighted are Lady Vol Hall of Famers Liz Brown-Jarvis, Alisa Harvey, Jenny McGrath-Weaver and Catherine Byrne-Maloney.

Between games, the following individuals will be spotlighted for their place in Lady Vol history:

Footsteps Book
  • Sharrieffa Barksdale, track and field
  • Sarah Blum, volleyball
  • Liz Brown-Jarvis, swimming and diving
  • Kathy Bryant, track and field
  • Catherine Byrne-Maloney, swimming and diving
  • Linda Evers, tennis
  • Sarah Fekete-Bailey, softball
  • Alisa Harvey, track and field
  • Rosemarie Hauch, track and field
  • Missy Kane-Bemiller, track and field/cross country
  • Jenny McGrath-Weaver, swimming and diving
  • Susan Thornton, track and field
  • Adrienne "Buffy" Walker-Chery, softball
  • Delisa Walton, track and field
  • Denise Wood, track and field

Immediately following the on-field recognition, the group will move to the concourse down the first base side of Sherri Parker Lee Stadium and will sign autographs. Fans may bring their copy of In the Footsteps of Champions to be signed or copies will be available for purchase for $39.95.

Saturday's first game between the 15th-ranked Tennessee Lady Vols and the 3rd-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide will begin at 1 p.m. at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.
