SURREY. B.C. - Lady Vols second baseman Lauren Gibson went 3-for-3 on Friday night as Team USA moved to 4-0 in the Canadian Open Fastpitch Championship in Surrey, B.C. The Eagles play two games on Saturday, vs. Canada and Japan.
Gibson played a big role in USA's 7-0 win over New Zealand on Friday. She doubled and singled twice as she scored two runs in the no-hit win.
Gibson is hitting .444 in her three games of action in the Canadian Open, going 4-for-9.
On Saturday, USA plays Canada at 4 p.m. ET and Japan at 9:30 p.m. ET.
Lady Vols co-head coach Karen Weekly is serving as an assistant coach with Team USA.
