USA-Aruba Box Score | Pan American Games Qualifier Schedule

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- Tennessee's Raven Chavanne and Lauren Gibson each had two hits as the USA Softball Women's National team crushed Aruba, 16-0, in three innings on Saturday in its first game of the Pan American Games Qualifier.

The U.S. continues round-robin play and will next face Brazil on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. ET. The Red, White and Blue tallied 16 hits with 10 different batters recording a hit and five players with multi-hit efforts.

Chavanne was 2-for-2 with one double, one RBI and two runs. Gibson was 2-for-2 with one RBI and one run. Michelle Moultrie was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs and was a homer shy of the cycle. Valerie Arioto had a grand slam and Taylor Hoagland and Kourtney Salvarola also homered.

Sara Nevins earned the win after throwing two shutout innings with three strikeouts. Aimee Creger struck out two in a scoreless third.

Aruba's Mandy Angela took the loss after allowing seven runs (six earned) without recording an out in the first. Rudlyn Ras gave up nine runs (five earned) after throwing 1.1 relief frames. Gabriela Geerman got the final two outs of the top of the third without giving up a run.

Moultrie led off the game with a bunt single and Chavanne followed with another infield single to give Gibson two runners on with no outs. Gibson clubbed an RBI double to plate Moultrie and give the U.S. the 1-0 lead. Arioto followed with a grand slam two batters later to push the team's lead to 5-0. Two more matters later, Hoagland hit a two-run blast over the left field fence. Four runs later, Team USA's lead was 11-0.

In the second inning, Salvarola led things off with a solo homer. Two batters later, Moultrie hit an RBI triple. Three batters later, Lauren Chamberlain hit a two-run single to push the U.S. lead to 16-0.
