KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - On Monday night in Knoxville, Tenn., the Tennessee Lady Vol softball team put the finishing touches on last year's magical run to a third-place national finish as co-head coaches Ralph and Karen Weekly handed out the 2010 team awards at a banquet and ceremony alongside longtime Lady Vol supporter and UT softball stadium namesake Sherri Parker Lee.
During the 2010 campaign the Big Orange posted a 49-15 overall record and went 2-2 in the program's fourth trip to the Women's College World Series over the past six seasons. Along the way Tennessee swept through NCAA Super Regionals at No. 2 Michigan, ending UM's 36-game home winning streak in the process, and secured WCWS victories over No. 3 Arizona and No. 9 Georgia.
Included among the awards presented at the banquet were the following new team honors:

"The JC Award" - Kelly Grieve - The "Jimmy Chitwood" Award is presented to the player who best exemplifies the toughness, character, and dedication of Lady Vol Softball.
The Sarah Fekete "Leadership Award" - Ashley Andrews - named in honor of former Lady Vol All-American Sarah Fekete, the award is presented to the player who best demonstrates leadership both on and off the field of play.
